Community Action are proud to announce a new Training Bursary that we will be providing, with thanks to our Trading Arm, Bradford Community Payroll and Accounts. Their annual gift to us has meant that we can contribute an additional £10,000 to subsidising training costs for small voluntary and community groups in the Bradford District who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it.
This extra £10,000 will have a huge impact on our beneficiaries, and could allow up to 220 small organisations to access full day courses, or up to 400 access half day courses. These are the groups that need it most, often having unpaid staff with limited knowledge of the technicalities of the voluntary sector, so it will greatly enhance their ability to make a difference to their communities.
We trained 315 people in the District in 2019, on courses such as GDPR, Safeguarding, Quickbooks, Funding and Finance related courses, Volunteer Management and much more. We also introduced new First Aid courses this year to include Adult Mental Health First Aid in conjunction with the University of Bradford. These types of courses are massively important with the upcoming parity between physical and mental health in the workplace, the latest Safeguarding Updates in Children’s and Adult’s Services at the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (CBMDC), and the increased competition for funding in light of austerity and budget cuts.
To check your organisational or individual eligibility or to check which courses this bursary can be applied to, please email the training team via firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07419 133797.
