Ilkley & District Community Showcase Event!

Updated: Mar 12, 2019

In response to requests from voluntary groups the Showcase will be held again this year. At the last Community showcase in 2012 there were 50 local voluntary and community groups which took part. This year we want to include more groups and make this the voluntary sector event of the year. We are working with the two local Rotary clubs and also local business representatives to help publicise the event and encourage more visitors

The aim of this event is to provide a spotlight on our Community, enabling you to promote your organisation to members of the public, to develop your own membership and to highlight any volunteering opportunities.

Publicity will be aimed at trying to encourage more potential volunteers from the local community including local businesses and schools to come and visit the event. Why not think about how you can encourage visitors to stop at your stand, rather than take a casual glance? This year I would particularly like to encourage those groups whose activities might appeal to young volunteers.

We would be grateful if you would indicate on the enclosed booking form if you would like to participate. Space is limited and will be allocated strictly on a first come, first served basis. Please return the booking form as soon as possible to the address above.

The Showcase will be open to the general public 13:00- 18:30 on the 5th June. This is a long event but it is to allow for workers to call in during their lunch break, as well as after work and also school pupils.

Your help to publicise the event across the district would be not only appreciated but is essential if we are to get as many members of the public to visit the event. Please help by distributing posters at venues and notice boards around Ilkley and district.
