Our competitively priced First Aid courses are delivered in partnership with University of Bradford at their prestigious venue using experienced and professional trainers in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.  The courses can be delivered either on the main University campus or alternatively in house for your organisation.  Please contact us to arrange this for you.

University of Bradford is a longstanding education establishment and is approved by the First Aid Industry Body and the Royal Lifesaving Society to deliver First Aid and Lifeguard Training.

First Aid at Work - 3 Day

This course is designed to equip the First Aider with the knowledge and skills to give life support, manage and treat injuries until medical assistance arrives.

Following an assessment, candidates will receive a FIRST AID AT WORK certificate, valid for 3 years

Syllabus to include

  • Care of the unconscious casualty

  • Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Control of bleeding 

  • Treatment of shock 

  • Recognition of medical conditions 

  • Accident reports and regulations

First Aid Requalification - 2 Day

 

Dates available

This course is designed to refresh the currently qualified First Aider with the necessary knowledge and skills to give life support, manage and treat injuries until medical assistance arrives. Participants must have a current First Aid at Work Certificate in order to do this course, it should not have expired by more than 1 month.

Following an assessment, candidates will be issued with a FIRST AID AT WORK certificate valid for 3 years.

Topics covered are: 

  • Care of the unconscious casualty

  • Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Control of bleeding

  • Treatment of shock

  • Recognition of medical conditions 

  • Treatment of poisoning

Adult Mental Health First Aid - 2 Day

Our Adult MHFA Two Day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider.

 

This course will provide

  • An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing

  • Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

  • Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress

  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening

  • Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support - whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix

 

What to expect

Learning takes place across four manageable sessions. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.

We limit numbers to 16 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn.  

Everyone who completes the course gets:

  • A manual to refer to whenever you need it

  • A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health

  • A certificate of attendance to say you are a Mental Health First Aider

Paediatric First Aid - 2 Day

We are a Paediatric First Aid Association approved training centre, which enables us to deliver compulsory training to childcare workers, including nurseries and schools.

Having staff that are trained in paediatric first aid is now a requirement of OFSTED if your organisation provides early years care or crèche facilities. 

The course equips the First Aider with the necessary knowledge and skills to give life support, manage and treat injuries until medical assistance arrives, including the ability to recognise serious childhood illnesses and the administration of prescription medicines.

Course covers: 

  • First aid kit

  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty

  • Resuscitation

  • Choking

  • Asthma and diabetic emergencies

  • Head injuries

  • Seizures

  • Bleeding

  • Burns

  • Sprains, strains and fractures

  • Childhood conditions
